Introducing Tropikal, a free vintage modern typeface built for elegance and adventure in mind. Tropikal typeface came from the curiosity of what old Philippine type would look like in today’s modern landscape. It’s a modern rendition of an old style serif typeface inspired from the nineteenth-century Philippine bank notes, newspapers and packaging designs.

Tropikal’s defining quirks are its sharp edges, high contrast between thick-thin stokes and semi-tilted cross bars (eg middle of A, H or e). You can use the letterforms by themselves or you can add image overlays or shadows if you feel a little bit adventurous.

Tropikal font is free for personal and commercial use.

Thanks to Gabriel Reyes for sharing the Tropikal font. Don’t forget to appreciate this excellent project and follow the creative designer.
